This is my story…

Caitlyn Ochsner was raised on a ranch along the South Platte river near the small town of Kersey, Colorado – an agricultural community where cattle outnumber people. Like most ranch kids, Caitlyn grew up with a long list of daily chores and responsibilities, but that didn’t keep her from dreaming of her name in lights. Whether she was bottle feeding a calf, gathering cows on her horse or preparing cattle for the next show, she could be heard belting her favorite country songs by artists like Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, and Shania Twain – dreaming of the day she could make music instead of mucking stalls.

When she became old enough to participate in 4-H, Caitlyn informed her parents that in addition to showing cattle, she also wanted to compete in the Weld County Youth Idol Contest at her first county fair. After a few voice lessons from the choir director at church, Caitlyn took the stage for the first time, singing a song called Anything is Possible. “I will never forget how I felt the day I sang at the county fair,” Caitlyn recalls. “It was as if God had spoken directly to me, calling me to pursue a dream in music. I wasn’t worried about the “what if’s” and I wasn’t thinking of the mountain I was being called to climb, I just knew in my heart I was made to sing.”

From that day forward, Caitlyn committed herself to honing her craft. She spent her high school years–participating in honor choir, taking classical voice lessons, competing in talent contests and playing at fairs, weddings and community events with her band. She also continued nourishing her passion for agriculture – excelling in 4-H and FFA contests while winning buckles and banners with her cattle in the showring. 2014 marked a memorable milestone in Caitlyn’s musical journey when she sang the National Anthem in front of 20,000 rodeo fans at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. That experience fueled her passion for singing and left her even more determined to pursue her musical ambitions.

In 2016, Caitlyn moved to Nashville to study music at Belmont University and pursue the dream God had laid on her heart nine years before. Over the past several years, Caitlyn has developed her skills as singer/songwriter and recently released her debut EP entitled “Home.” In this four-song EP, Caitlyn’s rich, powerful voice is blended with a heavy dose of fiddle and pedal steel resulting in a sound that is pure country. While she is regularly praised for her vocal range, high-energy performances, and ability to seamlessly transition from emotional ballads to up-tempo anthems, it’s her faith, western heritage and authenticity as a person that captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impression. Caitlyn is not just another girl in boots and blue jeans. She has lived and breathed the western way of life. Caitlyn’s lead single, “Home” pays tribute to her upbringing and epitomizes the raw emotion and transparency she brings to her songwriting.
